Biba Printed Pink Anarkali Kurta : OOTD

Hey, people!

Today, I’m doing an outfit post in association with Shoppers Stop, which happens to be one of the famous shopping portals in India for clothes, accessories, homeware and a lot of other stuff.

The kurta from Biba is priced at Rs.1999; available at shopperstop; it is elegant, neat and I think it’d make a great party wear! I paired up it with my gold jewelry and created a simple look today.

So I’m someone who has two or maybe three salwar suits in my whole collection of outfits! (And no, this is not a joke!) I VERY rarely wear a salwar let alone any kind of ethnic wear! (May once or twice in a year?!) But when I choose one, I make sure it’s the one I’m comfortable wearing! Blingy, glittery ones are so NOT my kind. I dislike embroidery as well for unknowns reasons. I prefer the work to be simple, yet nice. So when I chanced upon this bright pink Anarkali kurta at Shopper Stop, I couldn’t resist picking it! The color was so bright and it screamed summer. Since I’m into bright/fluorescent shades these days, I was drawn towards this piece from their new collection as soon as they launched it!

Shopping Experience: My shopping experience with Shoppers stop was really smooth! I received the package safely on time and the product was well wrapped in layers of bubble wrap. No complaints!

I got the kurta in size 36 which happens to be almost the perfect fit for me! Maybe slightly loose around the waist but that isn’t a big deal. There are 5 different sizes online to choose from.

The kurta is long (Anarkali!) and is fluorescent pink in color! The shade is something I’d pick for summers. It is very bright & alluring that I loved it so much! The fabric is fine and comfy and is of good quality. The kurta has beautiful golden prints and I like how it is not very harsh to my eyes. The gold prints are subtle, yet very beautiful! The kurta has a close mandarin neck and cap sleeves; buttons on the front, a zipper on the side for the ease of wear. I chose to pair it up with a skin colored cotton pants as it compliments the bright shade of the outfit! (The shades show up washed out in a few photos due to the harsh sunlight. I’m sorry about that!)

Accessories: I kept the accessories simple since I didn’t want to over-do the whole look. I didn’t wear anything special but my daily wear gold chain, jhumkas and bangles. I’m wearing my black-beige wedges to complete the look!

Hairstyle: I badly wanted to try braids with this outfit but just before the evening, I washed my hair! I tried to dry it a bit before braiding it but still, my hair wasn’t full dry. That is why my braids look messy and limp! (Nevertheless, I liked the braids with this kurta! Free hair is too much to handle for Chennai summers right now!)

Makeup: After doing my base (L’Oreal Paris Infallible Foundation – Caramel Toffee), I wing-lined my eyes with a black eyeliner! (L’Oreal Paris Super Liner eyeliner) I did a neutral pink eye makeup and I completed the look wearing a bright lip color (Orchid!) from L’Oreal Paris!

The photos were clicked by my cousin (Vicky) who is very new to DSLR cameras. But I really hope you liked the look! Do let me know your thoughts on the comment section below!

P.S: I’m planning to visit the Egmore cotton street this April. And if I do, I’ll make sure to blog my experience as I shared the T.Nagar shopping haul post last month! Do stay tuned to the blog for more updates!

  3. Dear Lancy,

thank you so much for this nice blog! I am a german girl and interested in how indian women manage to grow this healthy, strong and long hair; thats why I read your blog since some months.
But I am happy to see some wonderful indian clothes here as well :-) I visited India twice and couldn’t stop turning my head to admire all those beautiful and elegant sarees (love them!) and colorful dresses and many germans agree with me (please never stop wearing this!).
The pink Kurta is wonderful and the color fits perfect to your skin! I like your golden accessories, they accompany the golden pattern in a pretty but subtle way. All together a very successful look :-)

Take care and lovely greetings from Germany :-D

  4. Don’t know about the change in theme as I m totally new to this site.. but great pics :) You look so good in this kurta Lancy. Donning a simple look with just a little eye makeup and minimal jewelry, I must say you have great features. I randomly came across this blog while googling for some good henna for hair and read through few hair care posts and found them useful so would visit this blog quite often now :)

  5. Wow, what a gorgeous pink kurta, and hey your cousin did a good job photographing. I came to your blog to read about coconut milk and saw this post featured at the side and had to click. BTW, your long hair is so silky! My hair is way short and is pretty much broom-like if I don’t give it some love. Do share how you keep yours so healthy :D I would love to read that. Stay brilliant <3 :) x

  6. The subtle prints on the kurta looks stunning and alluring. I love how you paired it with cotton pant, making the feel of the out fit all the more comfortable. Going to try and catch hold of a similar kurta soon.
