Hello beautiful people!
I hope most of you have already heard about Vitamin C beauty benefits! Citric fruits like orange, lime, grapefruit and kiwi contain vitamin C and vegetables like tomatoes, broccoli, green leafy vegetables etc also do. You can have it and also you can use it for your beauty purposes too that’s where DIYs come in picture!
Let’s begin the day with my brightening mask recipe using Vitamin C tablet as the main ingredient! Check the recipe ingredients and steps below and my own experience and views about this mask.
Ingredients:
- Vitamin C tablets
- Rose water
- Honey
- A small tray or a bowl
- Spoon
Steps
– Take out 2 vitamin C tablets and powder them using a manual grinder or you can use the rolling pin which is easily available in most kitchens. It just took a few seconds for me to powder them. I have used Limcee 500 mg Vitamin C Chewable Tablets which I have already used before in the Vitamin C Serum DIY.
– After this, I have added 2 spoons of rose water to the powder. You can use any rose water like Gulabari rose water from Dabur or you can make rose water at home too. If required I will share the rose water recipe in future. So, coming to the recipe – keep mixing it with the help of spoon till both the ingredients are mixed together really well.
– Add 1 spoon of honey to the mixture and mix it well. If you find the mixture runny, then you can powder one more tablet and add it to the mixture!
– Now, the Vitamin C tablet skin brightening mask is ready to apply!
How do I use the face mask? : First, I use the headband to keep my hair away from my face and then, I apply it on my face avoiding the eye area. I apply the leftovers on my hands or feet. I keep it this way for 10 minutes (it can be kept for more few minutes though) then, I wash it off.
After using the mask, I dry my face using a soft towel and I apply aloe vera gel to my face, hands and feet too! (I cover the areas wherever I have applied this mask). I prefer using this mask during evening or night time because it contains Vitamin C which makes the skin photosensitive. Hence, you should take care of that while going outside in the sun.

My Experience
I made this DIY twice this week as it’s quite easy to use and really few ingredients are required. Initially, I didn’t expect it to work so well but when I saw the effects, it was wonderful! I kept checking my face that day as it was looking bright with a glow on. I am skeptical about using citric products or Vitamin C products on my skin because I have sensitive combination skin. But, this mask didn’t irritate me at all; instead made my face look much better.
The vitamin C works as an exfoliator on the skin thus, brightens the face and it is loaded with other wonderful beauty benefits as well. Honey is a gentle moisturizer for the skin and soothes the skin really well. Rose water helps in giving the cooling effect to the inflamed skin and it makes the mask soothing!
These three ingredients when mixed together do wonders in just few minutes! Vitamin C tablet doesn’t cost much if you’re wondering. Honey, you can buy the bottle for Rs.40 or Rs.50, the tiny bottle of honey costs less than Rs.40 and rose water is easily available at a reasonable price!
Overall, it’s a quick and easy recipe to get skin brightening done at home! College going girls or working women can try this to pamper their skin at night. Try to avoid sunlight or if you can’t, try to wear sunscreen or sunblock with good SPF in it. (It’s a must!) Do not overdo the mask. You can use it twice or thrice a week. After washing your face don’t rub it with towel and make sure to use some natural moisturizer on your face.
Seems very effective. I’ll try is definetly. Thanks for sharing :)
