Clear, spotless, blemish-free skin is what every woman eyes. Not only does such a skin look eye-pleasing but also reflects a healthy skin care regimen, doesn’t it? As someone rightly said – Great skin does not require makeup but an excellent skin care regime, so it goes without saying that investing in good skin care products, chalking out a detailed routine for one’s skin has to be a priority! And yes, all you lazy couch potatoes out there, stick to the plan. It takes patience and only patience after a point.
Anyway, I stumbled upon a face mask in the market one fine day which caught my fancy simply because it had the word ‘clarifying’ embossed on its label. Today, I will review it. It is none other than the Dabur Uveda Clarifying Face Mask! Let’s see how it performs and then prepare its report card.
My Views:
Packed in a chic plastic tube with all the requisite details printed on the package and a spillage-free nozzle from which the mask oozes out, the packaging of this face pack as per me is simple but sturdy, hygienic to use and travel-friendly. Hence, it gets full marks as far as its packaging is concerned. Good start, isn’t it?
The mask has a rich creamy texture. It is lightweight so, you do not get the feeling that something heavy is sitting on your face as you apply it. Upon applying a thick layer of the mask on your face, you get a relaxing cooling sensation.
Pro Tip: Keep two chilled green tea bags on your eyes when you apply this face mask. That helps to prevent dark circles, under eye discolouration and puffiness besides giving a makeshift at home spa like experience to you!
The face mask dries within 10-15 minutes completely and washing it off is a cakewalk. Just splash enough water and rub your fingers in circular to exfoliate your skin. What you are left with is a squeaky clean, clear and glowing skin. The glow of course, is temporary but the squeaky clean look is what refreshes you! On the flip side, my skin being dry felt a little more dry than usual after washing, hence for dry/extremely dry skin, a moisturizer/body butter is a desideratum after washing. You surely do not want to look as if someone has spilled flour over your face, right
Another major limitation is that the face mask consists of a number of chemicals with some being highly toxic such as – PEG, Glycol, Parabens, DMDM Hydantin and perfume (which conceals a number of chemicals under its otherwise, harmless looking ‘perfume’ tag). Be careful. It is your skin.. Your bank account. You need to invest wisely in it. It reflects your choice made for your largest organ.
In short, even though the face mask has worked well, I won’t grab it again since it comes packed with a number of chemicals and is drying for my skin. Oily/excessively oily skin may benefit from it but for dry/excessively dry skin, this surely isn’t a good bet!
Price : Rs 195/- for 100 gm
Rating : 2.5/5
Final Verdict
The pack has a number of chemicals and is not apt for dry/excessively dry skin. Unless you are really tempted, don’t go for it. Our desi Multani mitti does an equally good job for oily skin for which is crafted!
Sounded promising till you mentioned that it is loaded with chemicals.
Has way too many chemicals, Sangeeta. It still, works to an extent for oily skin but a big No No for dry skin.
