Hello Lancy!
I am so glad I found your blog. I read through your hair care routine as well. I have a inherited long curly dense hair from my maternal side and it’s a bliss I still am being able to retain it even today but the length has shortened since I am in my maternity leave.
My reason to enter the challenge is to maintain the hair volume and get my old hair length back. I observed that I have premature graying of hair from 2 years. No! I do not color my hair and use henna to cover the grays. Post which hair texture changed and got frizzy.
And often my scalp gets negligible amount of dandruff. My challenge will focus on my hair growth along with dandruff control and improvement of hair texture.
I’m attaching two pictures here. One showing the length of my hair. Other with the texture and the natural state of my hair.
My Current Hair Care Routine: I oil my hair 3 times a week and wash only when I am going out. I love soaking my hair in oil up in a bun, mostly for a day or two. For my hair wash, I use a diluted shampoo to wash off the oil and use conditioner only if have to go anywhere, else no conditioner either. I love styling my hair occasionally mostly it’s flat iron. I use heat protection and style my hair and immediate night I oil my hair to add the lost moisture.
My scalp though is oily, it dries up so I always keep it oiled. I take Vitamins and B-complex as supplements for my hair and I also give good 10 minutes massage to enhance the circulation of blood to my scalp. I sometimes massage warm oil to the tip of my hair to keep split ends at bay.
A month’s oil consumption is about 200 ml. I use coconut oil plus homemade hair pack – ground green gram and methi. I use very less leave on products which I slowly want to eliminate from my routine.
My Sleep/Food Routine: I sleep through 8 hours a night and one hour during day. My food routine consists of 4 meals : 3 heavy and 1 meal of fruits with tender coconut. No exception in food; veg and non veg included in a balanced way. I eat 3 eggs a week and 1 meal of meat a week. Greens and sprouts are included everyday!
I wish to take this challenge for a year as to grow out my hair and then continue my product purchase there after!
