Hello everyone!
Today I’ll be reviewing a lip balm from Biotique. I purchased it long ago after reading Arshita’s review on Biotique nourishing aloe vera lip balm. She gave it a 5/5 rating and I really wanted to try these out. However, I picked the almond variant instead of aloe vera one.
Price : Rs.99 for 16 g
My Views:
The lip balm comes in a small green colored plastic tub. There’s a lid inside to prevent mess however I am not very interested in tub-packaging when it comes to lip/skin care products. The tub is not too tiny; it carries 16 g of lip balm which is a LOT for the price. Hence, I would tag it ‘very affordable’.
The consistency is semi-transparent and the balm contains tiny golden shimmer. I don’t think its a good idea to include shimmer in a lip care product. It spreads smoothly on the lips and moisturizes it in no time. If you layer it more than twice, the lip balm may form a white caste, which you should definitely be aware of. I apply it like once in the evening, and once before I go to bed (as instructed on the tub; yeh It claims to be an evening balm)
It has a spice-y fragrance to it; which is again a disappointment for me. I picked the almond variant only because I’m allergic to the smell of aloe vera (most of the time) but surprisingly, this smells nothing nice, sweet or good but just plain spice and a kind of medicinal. I am bad at describing fragrances however, I am just saying I am neither impressed with the texture nor impressed with the fragrance of this lip balm!
Though the texture and fragrance are not as expected, this balm stays on my lips for 3-4 hours without drying it – which is of course a hit thing! It stayed on my lips even after a drink and it never let it dry. I’ve been using it for few weeks now (with skips in between) and I can say it made my lips smooth, little-bit even toned and soft. I sometimes apply it on the day time too. It works very well on my lips compared to Vaseline lip balms and even more better than the Maybelline baby lips lip balms. Thanks to Biotique!

Conclusion:
Overall, this is one of the best lip balms available in Indian market – that REALLY prevent and heal dry lips. If you don’t mind the shimmer and smell, do give this a try. You will not regret.
white cast scares me.. i feel so embarassed when i notice it anytime on my lips :( i will stay away..thanks for an amazing review :D
My pleasure Purva… :) ! And yeah, white caste products are a headache!
Seems like a good product for my lips in winter when nothing seems to be working!
Do try it!! It works great as a night lip balm..
Thanks for the review…I may skip this as shiny lip balms are absolute no no if they are not tinted. You saved my bucks :-)
Welcome Jhilmil! :)
Hi Lancy… Could u please suggest a lip balm that would even out my lip tone..? Because my upper lip is quite darker than the lower one.
