Hi friends,
Today I am really excited to review the Lotus Herbals Purestay foundation. To be frank, I am not that much of a foundation person since I generally prefer tinted moisturizers over the heavy look of foundations. But this beau right here has drastically changed my opinion. This is one of my best purchases and let me tell you why!

Price:
INR 595 for 30 ml.
Shades available:
(Lightest) Bright Angel, Royal Ivory, Hazelnut Star, Almond (darkest)
My Take on Lotus Purestay Foundation:
I chose hazelnut star which is apt for my skin color which is wheatish. This shade is the suitable for most girls. I think this is one of those rare foundation ranges that consider dusky skin tones too with the shade Almond. Kudos to them for that!

The packaging of this foundation is really nice since it is a transparent plastic bottle with a metallic pink pump dispenser. The bottle is also sleek and not heavy; just right to carry around in your bag. It comes packed in a sturdy pink carton along with a usage leaflet. The pump dispenser is hygienic as compared to the tub packaging. Sometimes this pump gets stuck and doesn’t work. Anyhow you can turn open the lid and take the product out. The foundation is of a thick creamy consistency making one wonder if it would blend easily. But it blends in quickly.
Work the magic with your finger tips and voila! The result is just amazing. This foundation is light just like a second skin as there is no cakey or patchy finish. The effect is natural and mildly dewy. I absolutely adore it. The coverage is medium to full and it can be layered up. Slight dark spots and discolorations can be covered easily.
The staying power is really great too since it lasted me for about 7 hours with only my T zone turning oily. This is beyond good since I have really oily skin and I stay in a really humid place like Chennai. Imagine its performance otherwise! And guess what? The product doesn’t oxidize at all.. period. For those who are unaware, it means that the foundation doesn’t change to a darker color after sometime.
Lotus claims this to be 100% vegetarian and preservative free. But unfortunately there is no ingredient list mentioned. Coming from a trusted brand, I guess we can believe the claims. It didn’t break me out too. There is SPF 20 for sun protection and yet there is not whitish cast. The face looks perfect for photographs too.
Why I like this foundation?:
- No smudging for long time.
- Does not oxidize.
- Shades for all indian skin tones
- Blends like a dream.
- Gives a glowy semi matte finish
- Provides medium to heavy coverage
- Preservative free
- It has SPF 20
- Great for photographs as well
- Suitable for all skin types
Why I don’t like this foundation?:
- No ingredient list
- Price
- They should do something about the pump dispenser.
