I loved the concept of BB Cream/Stick duo to make my skin look more even toned, as I feel that most foundations have a coverage so thick that it’s difficult to use them on myself. So I decided to get both BB stick and cream from Maybelline. After purchase, I started immediately using the BB Stick on the slightly darker parts of my face and the cream all over it. After nearly 5 months of usage, this is what I think about Maybelline BB Cream in shade Natural.
Rs. 199 for 18 ml.
My Take:
The color itself is the darkest of the three shades made available by Maybelline. It is slightly darker than my skin tone. A mild con, but nothing that cannot be handled when you are using it sparsely. I generally cover my pores and sensitive areas with the Maybelline BB Stick and then dab on some BB cream, and blend the two. The result makes my skin look much fine toned and smoother. I use my fingers mostly, but sometimes I also use a brush.
The cream blends in easily. It’s very travel-friendly and I have carried it with me a lot. No issues whatsoever there. It does not hydrate much, so it is prudent to moisturize your face before application. The product also tends to separate if you leave it alone for a while. So it is quite a good idea to check before application. It also provides better coverage than most other BB Creams in the market, and I like that it does not break me out
Before and After:
The BB cream claims to stay on for 8 hours. I have to say, on me it stays for 4-6 hours max, and in the end of the day I find myself looking at a piece of cotton soaked in makeup remover with not much of the BB cream on it. Frankly speaking I don’t mind it, but it might be a con for girls who want a foundation-like finish. However, get this – it is not a foundation, it’s a BB Cream, and it is not really supposed to be a foundation.
PROS:
- Travel friendly
- Hides minor imperfection
- Evens out skin
- Does not break me out
CONS:
- Product tends to separate if left alone for a while
- Does not last 8 hours on me
- Not hydrating enough
Rating: 3/5
Final Verdict:Overall, after this package gets over, I don’t think I will be getting another one. I will repurchase the BB Stick though, but not the cream.
Thanks for the review Poorna…do you think it can be used as light foundation for daily use? Also how is it in summer days?
it can be used as a light foundation as it blends well.
I agree, Poorna :) Arshita it depends on what type of skin you have. I have combination skin and this works wonderfully for me in summers. In winters I find it to be a bit drying.
I have this in the shade Nude and I love it.. I actually prefer it to the Garnier one. Nice review, really accurate :)
I prefer this over Garnier one too.
And the coverage of this is so much better than Garnier’s! :)
Good Review! I had this one but it doesn’t suit my oily skin at all.. I love the BB stick though
I have oily combination skin and this suits it well.
