Hey everyone!
Today I’m talking about the lip love conditioner from Lakme which was a huge rage when they were launched, especially for their cute packaging. I agree I also tried this product only for their cute packaging.
Lakme has been a part of my life from the time when I knew nothing about makeup and cared even less. I had a strange allergy with makeup (mental allergy) and avoided it until high school where the makeup bug bit me and I became what I am today.
Well Lakme is an old Indian brand and was the only brand till the Indian beauty market flourished with the new century and many foreign brands becoming available in India. I have a love hate relationship with Lakme as some of their products have worked and some of them have failed miserably.

My Take on Lakme Lip Love Conditioner Charmer:
The lip love conditioners come in a glass container a bit large than the Maybelline Gel Liners and the lid is a metallic red in color. Now comes the cute part, the product is packed in a heart shape inside the glass container. It looks super cute and is perfect for those who prefer cute and different packaging. Well I picked this up after the baby lips came to India just to try this out.
One thing I personally hate about the packaging is the fact that one has to dip their fingers in to get the product as it becomes difficult to carry a lip brush every time one needs to reapply.
Now moving on to the product, these are basically tinted lip balms and are different that the Maybelline Baby lips. The lip love charmers when applied using lip brush give a sheer finish to my slightly pigmented lips and provide a nice shine to the lips.
About the conditioning claim I feel it’s nowhere near the maybelline baby lip balms as these will do nothing for severe dry lips or those who need long lasting care. These stay on me for less than an hour after which I need to reapply. This does not survive a meal and vanish after a full meal. During dry and cold weather this can provide very less relief to dry lips.
The color charmer is the sheerest of the lot and I feel will be great for office goers and college students who like just a hint of color on their lips. The color charmer is a reddish shade which looks quite sheer on my lips.
PROS:
- Cute packaging
- Easy to carry in your purse or even your clutch
- The shade is quite unique and sheer which is good for office goers and college students
- Keeps lips hydrated
CONS:
- The shade Charmer is the sheerest of the lot making it a bad choice for pigmented lips
- The staying power is quite low
- These will give no relief to dry or chapped lips
- Tub packaging makes it a very easy breeding ground for bacteria
Rating: 3/5
Will I Suggest?:
Yes, only for those who want an everyday wear shade with sheer color and subtle shine for office/ college/ just every day. For those who do not like shiny colours and sheer products please do not buy this product. Those hoping for dry lip relief should also stay clear from this.
Will I Repurchase?:
No, this was an impulsive buy and is good till it lasts.
i like this one… :) gives subtle finish :)
Thanks Gowthami. I like it too but it is too light on my slightly pigmented lips :(
looks so cute.Post a lip swatch na.
The shade was not so prominent on my slightly pigmented lips so I discarded the lips swatch :(
