My View about Head and Shoulders Smooth and Silky Shampoo
I bought this product long back and used it for about a month. To say about packaging, the shampoo comes in a white plastic bottle which is flat, curvy at one side with a turning cap. The bottle is lovely white in color with pink shades in it and with a blue cap. I loved the simple packaging which looks cute except the turning cap, because it was little tough to open/close it and to take the shampoo out, sometimes I struggle to take out some shampoo and the other times, the shampoo flows much from the bottle. It also becomes clumsy around with shampoo flowing outside (sticky) :( I think it would be much better if they use a flip flop model cap instead of this.
The consistency of the shampoo is not too thick, it’s not runny too. It is thick, creamy enough and milkish white in color. I loved the flowery fragrance which this shampoo delivers :) I did not expect this kind of yummy fragrance from an anti-dandruff shampoo because most of the anti-dandruff shampoos gives only chemical smells :P I had mild dandruff and there were no much expectations for this shampoo at first from my side. The very first time I used it, I felt this shampoo lathers good and rinses out easily. I felt my scalp became free from dandruff up to an extent and my hair was smooth and smelling nice after rinsing my hair with this shampoo.
I tried this shampoo for a week without conditioner and another week along with conditioner, I do have dry hair so it suited me only when I used it along with conditioner. When I used the shampoo alone without conditioning for a week, it striped out my natural oils gradually and made my hair little frizzy even though it softens hair at that instant. Lets move on to the pros of cons of Head and Shoulders Smooth and Silky :D
PROS
- Reasonably priced for the good quantity and quality.
- I was impressed of the lovely flower like fragrance which makes every hair wash special and my hair was smelling nice on the days I shampooed my hair.
- Lathers well and gets rinsed off easily.
- Reduces dandruff and prevents it up to an extent.
- Unlike the anti-dandruff shampoos, it doesn’t dry out my hair. It made my hair really smooth and silky up to a good extent when used along with the conditioner.
CONS
- The packaging :( makes it hard and clumsy to use. It would be better if the shampoo comes in a flip flop cap.
- Few of my cousins experienced little hair fall when they suddenly changed to this shampoo, it might be the chemicals and alcohol ingredients causing it in dry scalps for some people. For me, it was all right.
- It doesn’t contain any natural ingredients and when I failed to rinse properly with lots of fresh water after lathering, the shampoo remaindered in my scalp and started appearing like flakes.
My Recommendation: Overall, I recommend oily and normal scalps who have dandruff to try this shampoo. Dry scalps will need a heavy nourishing conditioner if you want to use it.
My Rating: 4/5 (-1 for the packaging)
hey lancy,
this actually comes in a flip cap top….please check before doing a write up!
Thank you so much for the suggestion Vidya :)
Did you notice the picture? The small bottle [90m] actually comes with a twist type cap and it is not FLIP TYPE as you mentioned. May be the bigger packs come with flip type packaging. I will check and update it soon if I happen to get or see that bottle.
P.S: I always check with the product and its results on me before writing it up, though I will take your suggestion kindly :)
Hello Lancy! Great review. But personally my preference is the GKhair anti-dandruff shampoo to banish the pesky white flakes from my itchy and flaky scalp. Very effective for keeping the hair dandruff at bay. Love it. :) <3
