Hair Care Regime for Soft and Strong Hair

Beautiful hair beautifies a person. Maintaining your hair soft, supple and shiny is not a hardest thing. A few simple tips make a good hair care regimen which protects and develops the beauty of your hair. Till the age of 12, I never cared about my hair. It was very long that it was about to touch my knees. Because of improper maintenance and diet my hair got dry and started appearing like brush. Seeing this my mom took me to the parlor and had cut my long hair.. :( Now I am 16 and having a super supple hair because of my good maintenance. Most of my friends are jealous of my soft hair :) Today I am going to share with you, my simple hair care regimen which made me get my lovely hair.

1. OILING… OILING… OILING is the first and best tip for healthy hair.

BENEFITS OF OILING HAIR
a) Nourishes hair and scalp by moisturizing it.
b) Improves blood circulation in the scalp and makes hair roots strong.
c) Cool downs the body and relax us from stress.
d) Cures dandruff and adds shine to hair.
e) Strengthens weak and brittle hair

  I oil my hair twice a week two hours before washing my hair because I don’t like to leave the oil in my hair. You can leave the oil overnight if you are comfortable with it. Coconut oil, Olive oil and other good branded oil works best on hair. We can make our own hair oil at home which provides great hair growth and softness.

HOMEMADE HAIR OIL

Ingredients
1. Amla powder (Gooseberry)
2. Tulsi podwder ( Holy basil)
3. Coconut or Castor oil

Method
  • Mix the ingredients with oil and heat it. Filter the oil and store it in a clean bottle and keep it in a clean, dry place.
  • Take a little amount of oil and heat it whenever needed. Massage your hair and scalp with this hot oil and leave for a while before washing. By this hot oil massage, the oil penetrates deeper into the scalp and nourishes it well.

2. The second thing I have done to get my healthy hair is CONDITIONING..!! Yes. Conditioning my hair does the trick. After you shampoo  your hair, it loses the moisture, natural oils and become dry, which easily leads into breakage of hair. Dry and thin hair breaks easily, so you have to condition your hair to nourish it and prevent hair breakage. You can buy any branded conditioner like Dove, L’Oreal Paris or Garnier. I have tried these three products and three of them were really good. If you don’t want to buy, you can make your own conditioner at home. It is very easy and natural. Here’s how..

Homemade Hair Conditioner
Mix Curd with lemon juice and apply over your hair and scalp after shampooing. Leave for 5 minutes and rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water without leaving any residue. (This surely doesn’t make your hair smells odd. I have tried it). By using this conditioner your hair shines like silk and you would love to run your fingers through your soft hair all the time.

3. VITAMINS AND MINERALS
Inner health is more important than the outer maintenance for strong and supple healthy hair. I take a folic acid pill, Vitamin b3 pill and Vitamin A, C, E pills everyday to maintain good hair health. If you’re not lazy like me, you can get these vitamins by natural food intake like Egg, milk, greens and vegetables.
