Hey, people! Amidst of all the work I’d been doing this week, I’ve had some me-time to cook, experiment with my hair and to play with Tommy & Mr.Roo. Fortunately, I also got to capture few photos and I’m going to share those with you today! I don’t really want to box myself into only posting reviews; I want some variety!
I’m feeling good that I started posting again. I hope I’ll be able to balance my work; and keep concentrating on blogging as earlier! Thanks for all the patience and support from you!
Tried a New Hair Mask
I tried this recipe for the first time last week and ever since, I’ve been waiting to do it once again on my hair – to show you the results with photos! For now, I’m only sharing the photos. Look how shinier it has made my hair!. (Update : I’m sorry; As soon as I arranged the tripod and got ready for the shoot, the rain has started pouring. Sigh! Chennai floods are really getting bad; though I love rain, let it stop temporarily for now!
By the way, the recipe is going to be a very simple one! All you need are two ingredients and I’ll talk about that on the tutorial post next week! Do let me know if you want me to put it up this week – so that I can try the mask on Wednesday if possible. (I’m so loving my hair after using it!)
My hair before the treatment – slightly dry and unmanageable! The waves are due to the previous night braids.
Cooked Chickpea Paneer Curry
While Roo is getting plumped up day by day, I’m struggling to gain a pound! Not that I’m jealous of him (He’s my sweetheart rooster!) but I wish I had his ability to pack pounds.
I started working out recently (a very mild workout – squats, stretches and stuff) and hence, I wanted to include LOTS of protein to my diet to gain muscle!
In order to include protein-rich food, I started to cook meat (almost everyday!) and then these dals and legumes that are rich in protein.
I made this curry with soaked channa dal and my homemade paneer! Believe me; it’s the softest I ever tasted and I’m no more buying paneer from the store!
I made a curry with these both (and few hot kashmiri chillies!) and here’s how it looks!
Note: The recipe tastes very good with chapatis, hot rice and dosa. My mom made biryani the next day using the left over refrigerated curry!! (It had garam masala, onion, tomato etc.. so..)
Spent time with Tommy & Mr.R00
Look at him! Look at his red, huge-sized combs and waffles. For me, he looks innocent, fluffy and of good-boy-kinds. But don’t underestimate him with his looks. He hates everyone EQUALLY! He’s a good guy in my hands. But the moment I let him down, his rooster hormones kick in. He fluffs up, drops his wing and tries to ATTACK your leg! (You’ll definitely see some blood if that happens) Hard to admit, but he’s obviously an arrogant rooster.
Otherwise, he’s this sweet, calm pet bird who loves to relax sitting on my lap. He enjoys nibbling a banana and he loves some privacy inside his place when I’m not around!
His comb falls to a side due to the weight!
Tommy aka Cheesecake, unlike the Roo is a truly a sweet boy; not arrogant as the birdie but again, he has his own set of crazy behaviors. (he chews wood, messed up clothes etc) I spent some good quality time with him this week!(He’s already feeling jealous about me and Roo so I pay him better attention now!)
No wonder; spending time with him unbelievably calms down my mood and relieves stress! At the end of my long tiring day, his loving eyes and wagging tails are what I need the most! Nothing can replace that really.! I feel so comfortable with Tommy whenever I don’t feel the same with anyone else.
Coming to the fun part – His ultimate worry is that it rains now and he cannot stop that! He tried barking at the sky and catching a drop or two and then he gave up! He now refuses to go out. All that he wants is a warm bed; and some delicious food chicken!
My week has been really good – a much needed change for me I must say! With all the work and routine, my mind felt numb! ROUTINE feels dangerous and this is my little start to break it! I’m involving myself into small activities/hobbies that keep me refreshed. I absolutely love my work and at times, I need a break.
I shall be sharing my weekly happenings with you all on this series from now; most probably on Sundays or Mondays if I get lazy! Please share with me on the comment section below about how you spent your week!
We really needed the rains. But they are somewhat starting to dampen our spirits. Didn’t think I’d say this, but I miss the sun.
