Hello beautiful souls! :)
Thanks a ton for all the lovely comments on my previous OOTD!! :-*
Here’s another OOTD.. The Traditional Assamese Attire – Mekhela Sador.
Few months back my college bid farewell to our seniors. I was the anchor for the farewell party show “adios amigos”!! I had to wear something traditional be it a saree, lehenga or suit. I chose to wear the traditional attire of Assam.

It has two main pieces of cloth that are draped around the body. The bottom portion, drapped from the waist downwards is called the Mekhela. The top portion of the dress is called the Sador. Designs on it are always traditionally woven, never printed. The fabric from which it is prepared is either paat silk or muga silk which are sumptuous, royal & heavenly. They are exotic, erotic and sensual.
Well.. Enough of ‘gyaan’ for now!!! Lets talk about my outfit. :) I wore my peach colored paat silk mekhela sador with silver guna work on it. An off-white silk princess cut blouse went bingo with the attire. I wanted to keep the look sober yet stylish.
I accessorized the look with matching peach danglers having an ethnic touch. I skipped wearing a neckpiece because I wanted the outfit to stand out. An elegant silver watch and a pink bangle with white floral designs on it gave me the desired grace!!

Silver-golden kolhapuri chappals appealed the best to me. I wanted to wear silver heels but since I had to keep standing for long I picked those chappals given they are flat and comfy!! For hairstyle, I made a loose drooping bun. It suited me right??
