Hey friends,
Today I am going to share my experience with a lipstick that costs only one pound. Yes, it is none other than MUA lipstick in shade 11. The MUA lipstick comes in 16 shades among which I have few. Today I am going to review shade 11 from my MUA lipstick stash.
Claims of the Lipstick:
Girls, there is nothing better than lipstick. Apart from maybe lipstick that costs just £1! Ok definitely lipstick that costs just £1. Don’t say we’re not good to you. Our amazing lipsticks come in 16 shades from red to pink and nude and are packed full of pigmentation. With just one swipe you’ll have fantastic colour pay off resulting in gorgeous lips! Why not pick a shade you’ve not tried before and get a new look? It is just £1 after all…did we already mention that?
Price:
£1 approx. Rs.91 without shipping charge.
My Take on MUA Lipstick Shade No.11:
The lipstick comes in a nice simple, sleek and black case with silver printed the name of ‘MUA’. At the bottom, there is a transparent pot having the same shade of the lipstick. It is attached to the case that can be detached and can be used by brush.
It seems like little bonus of the lipstick in case you end up the entire one or before trying the lipstick you can test the shade from the pot at first and you can easily find out the shade you want by seeing the see-through bottom of the lipstick.
Now coming to my take on the lipstick – The lipstick is neutral brown in shade that will suit only fair skin types I guess. Being NC 40 it almost wash out my skin tone. The lipstick is creamy in texture that glides smoothly on lips; hydrates lips and keeps it moist for hours.
Swatches:
LOTD:
The staying power is only 1-2 hours without having meals which I think is enough for a 1 pound lipstick. It is not transfer resistant. The lipstick when fades leaves no tints behind. Being creamy in texture the lipstick tends to bleed a little in summer which is why applying a coat of lip liner on lips before applying the lipstick is good option in summer for those who love matte lipsticks like me.
Next, the smell of the lipstick is little bit of smell of cookie! Yes I find it similar to smell of cookies I think. And this smell is bothering me a little as smelling cookie every time makes me tempted to eat cookie.
Why I like this Lipstick?:
- Affordable price.
- Nice, sleek packaging with see through bottom that help you to find the lipstick shade easily.
- Creamy in texture so non drying.
- Glides easily on lips.
- Smells like cookie (Well, this point might be pros for cookie lover only)
Why I don’t like this Lipstick?:
- Not available in India.
- Buying from direct website is risk as it doesn’t deliver to some cities of India. I think as in Kolkata, MUA never reached :(
- This particular shade might wash out Indian skin tones.
- Tends to bleed in summer.
- Not transfer resistant.
- Low staying power so reapplication is suggested as it fades within 1-2 hours.
My Recommendation:
The lipstick being creamy in texture is just ideal for winter and it comes in such affordable price that you can have at least one. That’s all for today. I hope you all like my review. Leaving these cons the lipstick is just too good in £1. Bye for today see you in my next post.
