Meera Herbal Hair Wash Powder Review

Happy rainy season to all of you; hope you are enjoying this lovely weather. I love getting wet in the rain, and since childhood my mother still scolds me every time I do. Anyways, I will review today a product that belongs to my experiments’ list, Meera Herbal Hair Wash Powder.

Price and quantity:

Rs. 49 for 90g.

My Take:

I always try new products for experiment. This product was listed on my favorite online shopping store. After seeing the product description, I searched about this product on Google, then I found out that it is mainly popular in the southern India, and many has tried and praised about this product. Without delaying I bought it. Since my immense hair loss period, I went totally herbal (used no harmful chemical enriched hair products since then). This claimed to be total herbal; once you open it, you will know it by its smell.

It is a quite large jar, and on the cap, it has a flip cover in one side. This flip cover helps to pour right amount, and prevents from a mess.

Well, after cracking the seal, I was very much disappointed; it was only 40% full in this fairly large jar. But also, you will only need one tablespoon of the powder to wash waist-length hair. But then the powder smells like actually mix of herbs like methi (fenugreek), amla etc, which was a relief for me. You might be wondering does this works like shampoo (I was also). Here are some pictures showing how it looks like after mixing with water.

I mix this paste with my fingers to make small bubbles in a bowl. It actually lathers and washes the hair squeaky clean (it was unexpected). One more thing, if you have oiled your hair with thick oils like castor oil or olive oil, you might want to use your daily shampoo; or you could also use this paste mixed with your daily shampoo (I did one time, it works)

After using this powder, I felt that I have done some natural treatment, because the after-effect is like how you get after using a hair pack or treatment. It cleans the hair completely and it does leave a mild smell of the powder which is basically the smell of methi/ fenugreek (not a bad thing though).

Overall, I loved this product. Now, I wish I could have known about this product before.

PROS:

  • Cleans completely like regular shampoo.
  • Contains herbal powders.
  • No chemicals (I hope).
  • Lathers well.
  • Though contains only 40% of the container, will go long time.
  • Flip cap prevents mess.
  • Packaging is good.
  • Very inexpensive.
  • Does what it claims.
  • Smell is not crappy (I have used local herbal products before; it did smell like dog poop).

CONS:

  • The only con is the amount of the product.

Rating:

4.5/5 (0.5 for the con)

Do I Recommend?:

Yes, if you crave for herbal shampoos or hair wash products, this is a great product.

Would I Repurchase?:

Yes, absolutely.

  4. i have this currently on my shelf but am not using it since it feels too rough on my fine hair and leaves it dry and even conditioning doesn’t help. the pack that i bought previously seemed to work well but this seems to be a not so good batch. Don’t feel like throwing it away. :-((
