Lip Balm is an item I believe any girl will find in their vanity as it is more of a skincare product than a beauty product. In the last few years we have seen the evolution of the Vaseline which used to be the HG lip care product for most Indians to these easy to use lip balms in so many varieties and flavors. Today we see so many brands launching lip balms to cater to the different needs of the lip balm lovers.
Even before Maybelline started promoting their new launch Baby Lips Lip Balm I was aware of these cute babies through the YouTube Beauty Gurus. But after the launch don’t know why but the swatches did not tempt me and I avoided them. But seeing these cuties on the counter I had to give them a try. HE and I love Mangoes and anything which has Mango in it. So he suggested I take the clear one that is ‘Mango Pie’
Price and Quantity:
The price of these lip balms vary as these are available in two varieties. The colorless ones (Mango Pie and Antioxidant Berry) ones are priced at 125 INR while the tinted versions (Cherry Kiss, Pink Lolita, Rose Addict, Coral Crush, Berry Crush) are priced at 150 INR for 4gm of product .
My Take:
Well so much has been talked about the super cute packaging of this balm and I’m sure you all love the Pink and Yellow Combination of the packaging. Plus the cute fonts add up to its amazing packaging. The lip balm is the transparent kind. It looks white in the packaging and goes transparent onto the lips.
Application is smooth and I need only one swipe to cover my full lips. But I have seen thin lipped ladies face problem due to the large head of the Lip balm. Having tried both the tinted and transparent version I have found that these lip balms are more moisturizing for dry lips. He has very dry lips and I gave him one of this version and in two days all the roughness was gone and with a DIY lip scrub the next day his lips were totally soft and there was no sign of dryness.
Also if you are to use this as a guard against the cold wind then settle for the transparent ones. These might feel a bit waxy but I feel they moisturize the lips very well. They heal chapped lips and make the lips soft (if not baby soft). I love the fact that these also provide SPF protection to the lip which is a big plus point for me.
I love the smell of it. Those who have enjoyed feasting on Parle’s ‘Mango Bite’ candy in their childhood will love this one. It’s the exact same smell. To confirm I searched the local shops and found some of the candies and yes they smell exactly same.
Using this I see my lips stay moisturized up to 6 hours and if I have lunch or a heavy snack then I feel the need of a lip balm application soon after. But with this cute packaging no one will hate reapplication. I loved this lip balm and if you have not tried these yet then do try this one at the counter. I love it.
PROS:
- Cute packaging
- Price is decent
- One lip balm will last you long so cost effective
- Easy to carry in the purse or your pocket
- Keeps lips protected from dryness
- Contains SPF so Yay!!!
CONSe:
- May feel Waxy
- The claim of baby soft lips may not be fully true for some
- Those with extreme dry lips may need more than this for their treatment
Rating: 4/5
Do I Suggest?:
Yes, who would not fall in love with such cute packaging? Also it is a good lip balm which nourishes lips and keeps them hydrated for long.
