My Hair Care Routine and Homemade Treatments I Follow ~ Nice’s Hair Care Story
Hi all!
I am a housewife and a mother of two boys, a 5 year old and a newborn :) so that leaves me with very little time to take care of myself and groom myself. However I still take time out to do some basic hair care routine. I personally believe that we must love ourselves inside and out to be able to take care of ourselves. Being healthy on the inside shows on the outside and being well groomed on the outside makes one feel happy to be in their skin which in turn positively affects our physiology. So it is a win-win game always.
How it all began?:
My hair story is not all that great because it was very late when I started growing my hair. My mum for some reason was not very keen on having me and my sister grow out our hair. So I was practically a tomboy up until my third year in graduation. After which I decided to grow my hair.
I have very dry hair and skin but my scalp is comparatively oily but not so much that it can withstand the rigors of winters. Having my father in the defense only meant constant transfers, new places, new weather conditions and new water type. And now that I think of it I am pretty glad that my mum kept our hair short as it would not have survived all the constant changes. All this only helped me to become not so conscious of the different water and weather conditions for which I am thankful.
Finally after settling down in my current city did I decide to grow out my hair. I have beautiful hair I must say. It is neither poker straight nor curly but naturally wavy and bouncy and the correct hair care can do wonders to it. However, it is not in the least thick and does not grow very fast and is easily prone to breakage and split ends being dry. There is also hair fall but not very much.
Even with all these issues I still love my hair to no end and am in the process of growing it longer. For years it was a typical layered cut shoulder length hair, but now it is past my shoulder.
My hair care routine:
I only wash my hair once for the fear of drying it further. I always do the same old hot oil hot towel treatment and leave the oil overnight and then before I wash I apply a hair mask of either whole egg + honey + essential oil or whole egg + banana + essential oil which I leave on for like 40 minutes to 1 hour and then wash it out with my L’Oreal smooth intense shampoo and conditioner for dry hair (Dharu’s reviews is what made me get this). Even here I go easy with the shampoo and religiously leave the conditioner in my hair for a few mins.
